About Me

‘‘A self that goes on changing is a self that goes on living’’. A quote from Virginia Woolf which I love! Motions of change, adventure and ambiguity is what makes up a meaningful life to me.

Being a little courageous to just try, has enriched my career journey tremendously

I have taken my creative curiosity seriously enough to dedicate time to cultivate a consistent art practice and to inspire creativity for others. This has been a mindset shift and some sort of a vocational redirection. Choosing to do both strategic and creative work and to embody a dynamic portfolio career for the long term. Choosing to compartmentalize competencies, rather than integrating them in one role or ultimate ambition. Strategic and creative are co-existing in me, so that is the life I want to live!

Bayla Bloom

Bayla Bloom is a small scale and slow jewellery label. The name holds a subtle reference to my son Bennett and daughter Ayla (Bayla). And Bloom really speaks to me as a feminine strength of openness, presence and growing into our full potential.

What lights up my fire is to really get to know the woman who wears Bayla Bloom. To be able to understand her essence and to craft a unique design that illuminates her natural presence. Her Bayla Bloom earring is an eyecatcher sparking curiosity and inviting others to discover something about her personal story. Commissions really allow me to connect deeply throughout the design process.

In my journey as a designer slowly but surely I grew more confident and clear on the vision. I’m forever grateful for my mentor Ruby, her mentorship has been invaluable to progress my technical skills and to learn to sit and think about my design choices. Another woman that has been pivotal in this journey is Linzi, who encouraged me to and believed in me to really bring Bayla Bloom into existence.

More on my strategic work

I’ve always had a professional passion for corporate social responsibility. It was a road with a few plot twists to get to where I am now, first working in corporate consulting, then for NGOs, then back to corporate consulting…. My current role feels like being the bridge to connect human-centric international development topics with corporates strides for ethical and inclusive business practices.
